A few months ago I got a MacBook Pro. It was intended to test the site in the Mac environment. As I used the computer, I realized there are a lot of things about the Mac that I really like. LU doesn’t really have a Mac users support group so I spoke with Mr. Kimbrough, our Director here in OIT, and he gave me the go-ahead to offer my limited services to those on campus using Macs.
My first order of business was to figure out how to connect email. I had already installed MS Office 2008, which the University has a site license for (if anyone needs a copy of that software, email me and I’ll let you know how to get it). Because our Exchange server doesn’t have WebDav services enabled, we can’t connect using iMail but I found some information on connecting to Exchange with Entourage (part of the MS Office 2008 for Mac suite of software.)
